Monitoring Engineer (Night Shifts)

The company is looking for a monitoring engineer to handle incident analysis, diagnose problems in a high-load microservice infrastructure, and interact promptly with development teams and partners.

What you'll do

  • Process and classify requests from internal users.
  • Respond quickly to incidents, diagnose and resolve common issues.
  • Analyze events in the microservice architecture and reconstruct incident chains.
  • Formulate and test hypotheses about root causes of failures.
  • Prepare information and escalate complex incidents to third-line support.
  • Interact with technical teams of partners during external outages.
  • Continuously monitor service health through logging and monitoring systems.
  • Detect anomalies before alerts trigger (latency spikes, memory leaks, retries, error rate, etc.).

What we need

  • At least 2 years of experience as a technical support or monitoring engineer.
  • Understanding of high-load system principles.
  • Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Experience with REST API, Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
  • Skills in log analysis using Grafana (Loki), Kibana, or similar systems.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Ability to identify incident causes and reconstruct event sequences.

Nice to have

  • Experience in configuring and maintaining monitoring systems.
  • Understanding of HTTP, TCP, SSL Handshake, and network errors.
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, retry mechanisms, and idempotency principles.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, containerization, and Linkerd.
