Tech Lead
Employer Location RemoteComp $6,500–8,000 gross per month (higher is negotiable)
The company is looking for a strong Tech Lead to take on the technical implementation of a mobile online game built on top of a ready-made game engine. This is a key role in a small team with no excessive management layers — you'll work directly with the project founder and the Lead Game Producer, owning all technical decisions, architecture, and code quality. You'll also coordinate developers and write code yourself.
What you'll do
- Develop the application (backend and frontend) on top of a ready-made game engine: architecture, technical decisions, standards, pipeline
- Coordinate the work of developers (Unity Developer, Full-stack Developer), set tasks and monitor their completion
- Hire and onboard new developers as the project grows
- Write code personally and participate in the implementation of key project systems — client and server side
- Set up client-server interaction: API, state synchronization, backend integration
- Ensure code quality: reviews, best practices, stable builds
- Confidently defend technical estimates and decisions in front of the Lead Game Producer
- Interact with designers, artists, and QA, helping turn game mechanics into working technical solutions
What we need
- 7-8+ years of development experience
- Experience in mobile app/game development — must have successfully launched projects in your portfolio (not prototypes or abandoned halfway)
- Proficient in both Cocos Creator (JavaScript/TypeScript) and Unity (C#)
- Full-stack development experience
- Client-server development experience, understanding of network interaction for multiplayer mechanics
- Experience building an application from scratch on top of a ready-made engine/platform
- Experience hiring and coordinating a team of developers
- Strong engineering foundation: architecture, patterns, clean and maintainable code
- Autonomy — making technical decisions without excessive approval
- Fluent Russian
What's in it for you
- Fully remote work
- High degree of autonomy and direct influence on the technical implementation of the product
- No multi-level management structure
- Additional project-based motivation can be discussed individually
