Senior Backend Engineer (Distributed Systems & Institutional Scale)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to work on a data-layer used by financial institutions and regulators for ownership structure analysis and financial risk detection. The product is a distributed system with event-driven architecture and large-scale data processing.

What you'll do

• Deploy production-ready backend architecture within the first 3 months
• Design and launch data ingestion pipelines from heterogeneous sources
• Implement scalable backend services and APIs
• Ensure observability, logging, and audit of system actions
• Deliver working endpoints and services demonstrating stable performance under load

What we need

• Proven 5+ years of experience in building and operating production systems used by businesses or large organizations
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and their behavior under load
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar streaming systems
• Experience in backend development with Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks)
• Strong system design skills (performance, fault tolerance, scalability)
• Willingness to provide proof of experience: GitHub, production cases, architectural decisions
• Fluent English (team working language)
